Difference between wooden floors and Laminates
Wooden floors last much longer than laminate, which is typically limited to a 15–25 year lifespan. However, hardwood floors typically wear out much faster than laminate as they are more susceptible to scratches, dents and discolouration.
The most popular laminate brands are Quickstep, Krono Swiss and Berry Alloc. With many years of experience and customer feedback, their flooring is some of the best out there. The thicknesses can vary from 8mm to 14mm.
The advantage of laying Laminate floors is that it is easy to maintain and can be laid on underfloor heating. With the wide variety of colours, the finishes of the floors and bevelled edges, you have exactly what you are looking for. It is more durable and scratch/stain resistant. Laminate is hard-wearing and can weather heavy footfall so perfect for busy areas. Lastly, it is easy to install.
A disadvantage of this floor is that you cannot sand down the floor.
