Solid Walnut

Solid walnut flooring is an absolute treat for passionate lovers of timber floors; it is less commonly used than oak, so it's regarded as more exclusive in this respect and yet it is more environmentally sustainable than exotic Merbau or Jatoba. The main strength of solid walnut flooring is the natural colour that varies depending upon continent of origin. Branded Lushwood walnut is imported solely from Northern America and it has a darker, more intense coffee colour as opposed to greyish, seemingly faded European Walnut. Yet sapwood can come out as extremely light, which creates an incredible blend of tone. Certain artificial lighting can expose a tinge of red in it as well, so it's always a great idea to take physical sample home for review. As with all natural timber; solid walnut floors will change colour with time after being exposed to natural sunlight (slightly golden sapwood and mocha heartwood).
